Changing Guild Cape Design
ok, i know the beta event is over. but there is one thing that's been bothering me... how do u edit your cape design/color/emblem without having to spend another 1,000 coins to band another guild? when i finally collected 1,000 coins, i was just so glad that i can finally buy a cape for my guild. in my haste, i overlooked the option to change the cape pattern and color combo. the cape i have now is alright, but i wish i could change those options so that i can be truly @ bliss when slaying monsters. please don't tell me that i am stuck with the design i have now, even when the regular game comes out. i know, i know, lesson learned. any helpful input will be appreciated.

i think you can just gather up another 1000 gold coins and make a new design. personally i made my guild cape during the february BWE, when the options were nearly as vast. now that there are more options, i want to redo mine as well.

the only way currently to change your cape is to disband and reestablish your guild.

Ahhh..... that explains what happened to our gold. We decided to change the background color of our cape. So we pooled together enough gold and our guild leader went to the Registrar. He made the cape, but the game took the gold and didn't give us the new cape.

It seems kind of ridiculous that you have to disband and remake a Guild just to change a cape. We can regularly change the garments of our avatars, why cant a guild change their capes as well, I don't expect it to be free if anything it would cost each member of the guild say 100 gold to change capes - therefore its a little more even, I mean it shouldn't cost a small guild to change a cape design compared with a larger one. This means that it creates a much more level playing field (as GW and most of us are so fond of)
Kind of on a related train of though, I wouldn't mind seeing other options of more than just a cape. How about adding a cloak or a banner on a pole strapped to your characters back (can't think of the proper term) for other options? |

I agree. I just read in another post that ANet won't be wiping and disbanding guilds on release. But... if you wanted to change your cape, it looks like you have to do that anyways.

Does that mean that after the Beta's and we go into the full version we are sill part of a guild or does that mean that only the names will be reserved to those who started the guild (if you happen to know, or if you could put up a post to where you were reading it?)

Here's the link: GUILD
Loviatar couldn't remember where he had read about it... so I'm going to see if I can do a search on and find it. Or if someone knows about the article in question, please post the link for us here. Here's his post of Gaile's confirmation: Guys, I believe last time I checked, Guild Names will be preserved from the Beta Weekend Events into the release version of Guild Wars. No need for a petition, we got ya covered. __________________ Gaile Gray Community Relations Manager ArenaNet Last edited by Joysze; Mar 23, 2005 at 05:53 AM // 05:53.. |
